Pool Resurfacing in Phoenix: Signs, Options and What to Ask

Pool resurfacing means draining the pool and putting a new interior finish over the old one. Most Phoenix-area pools need it eventually, because sun, heat and hard water wear plaster down. The main signs are rough patches that snag swimsuits or scrape feet, stains that won't brush out, and spots where the dark base shows through.

What to ask before you sign

  1. Will you check for leaks and cracks before resurfacing?
  2. Does the price include new waterline tile, coping, or both?
  3. Who handles the start-up chemistry after the new finish goes in? The first weeks matter for how the surface lasts.
  4. What does the warranty cover, and for how long?
  5. Can I see your license? Resurfacing usually needs an Arizona ROC license. Check it at azroc.gov.
